"I warn my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"That movement is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."

In addition to the forward's 6 scores on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in 3 appearances for Wythenshawe, while Boyd hit 5 on his first match and Joleon Lescott, a defender by trade, scored a hat-trick in one game as a striker.

"Now we are eager for the return match."
